A viewing platform 360 meters above Hallstatt
The pointy-shaped steel structure is located directly below the "Rudolfsturm", 12 meters above the abyss. Anyone venturing out there, is rewarded with the unique view of Hallstatt and the World Heritage region. Thanks the cable car on the Salzberg, elevator and panoramic bridge, the platform is easily accessible also for families and seniors. The structure has a total weight of about 200 tons. 60 m³ of concrete serve as a counterweight to allow the absolutely secure free " floating " of the platform. |

The Bone House of Hallstatt in the Holiday Region Dachstein Salzkammergut has been in existence since the 12th century. Kept in here, are 1200 human skulls. 610 of them have been hand-painted and arranged according to individual family groups. The dates of death marked on them. The tradition of recording and painting goes back to the year 1720 AD. |

Die Schifffahrt am Hallstättersee seit 1862
Da sich in Hallstatt der Bahnhof auf der anderen Seite des Sees befindet, gibt es eine Linienschifffahrt vom Bahnhof Hallstatt nach Hallstatt Markt. Das Linienschiff "Stephanie" fährt regelmäßig das ganze Jahr über zu den Zügen. Die Linie Hallstatt-Markt zur Bahnstation besteht seit 1881, ist bis heute die einzige Schiffsverbindung auf einem Österreichischen See, die auch während der Wintermonate aufrechterhalten wird. |
